Sunrise on the Ford Plantation

The picture above is what it looked like for real, the I did some computer alterations and the picture below is how it could  look like, but I can't ever really paint like that, at least, yet, maybe someday.

The Truth About Where Babies Come From

I found an old sketchbook and this drawing along with a series about babies. It totally made me laugh, the drawings I had done. Bunny rabbits harvesting babies that had grown inside of flowers (I laughed because my babies bloomed in some villa garden in Italy), the crew that washed, powdered and diapered them. The Gondoliers who floated the babies downstream to the Stork Delivery Co.. A possible book in the future? I really do not believe people should propagate myths, that's why I think the truth needs to come out.

Joy

I find that the pictures I have been painting so far this year are full of joy. Not only from the photos, or ideas that come into head but from the hearts behind the scene. I can tell that Jenna, the woman who owns these dogs is absolutely in love with them. And somehow it comes out in the photo. Yesterday's painting of lemons, came from the post of a friend who has wanted a lemon tree forever. Her absolute joy came thru in her post. I don't know how that happens, it just does. It makes me happy. It makes me happy that I can paint something and return the joy.

Hey YOU! Crabby Pants

I redid this from a painting I did last year. March 3rd to be exact. I must have been really crabby that day, and I drew her in these pants but with a not so nice hand gesture. I've been thinking about creating a card line, and I liked this image, just had to clean it up a bit.

My Mom in her Gold dress

The quote from Mary Oliver reads, "Tell me, what do you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?"

It was my mom's act of courage and hope that she bought this dress last March. The good doctors at the Mayo clinic didn't hold much hope for her a year ago Christmas, and had given her about a year. When we were shopping she did hesitate for a moment, and said, "What if I'm not here next New Year's Eve?" Then just as quickly said, "Even if I am in Iowa, and I have to go to the Pizza Ranch, I'm wearing this dress!"

Here she is. Her and my Dad celebrated the ringing in of 2013 dancing the night away at a hot little club in Florida. I love them both so much and I am so thankful that they are both here and happy, and have such a courageous outlook on life. It's a wonderful way to start the new year.

Happy New Year!
Wishing you health and happiness.

The Joy of Phred

My friend posted this picture of her dog on facebook. He is running with such unabashed joy, I couldn't resist. What a fabulous way to enter the New Year 2013. Happy New Year, and may we all be joyfully spirited.
