Day 197

The Langer's

My friend Jill wanted me to do a stylized painting of her family just like I did of mine when I went out to Wenatchee in June. She wanted her beautiful garden to be incorporated in the backround. Today I am back on my creating a daily piece of art and this is the result. I added her facebook photo that I used so you, the viewer and a get an idea of what they really look like.

Ella, the youngest raises chicken's and even though there are none in the photo I had to add one to the painting.

Day 195 - 196

FINISHED

The trio of paintings are done. I think the Golden turned out pretty well, considering my difficulty in doing this breed. Today or tomorrow I will pack these cuties up and ship them to Florida. It feels good to be getting back in the groove of my regular schedule.

If you are interested in pet portrait Christmas gifts contact me, soon.

Day 190 -194

DONE!

It took longer than I thought, but I am done. Now to the printers and then to esty. The photo actually shows 24 11 x 14 paintings. I am happy and pleased with the outcome of this years calendar.

I had to add my friend's little dog Garth, a Jack Russell Terrier to a square of honor. New dogs in this version include Max a black Cocker, my mom's stylist's Pomeranian, and my sister's bichon, Lamb. I LOVE the month of August, it is so fun.

Day 185 - 189

Artwork in Iowa

Maple joined me in my daily work.

December took me way longer than I thought. I only got November partially drawn. I have to head back to Minnesota this afternoon, and tonight instead of more calendar work I will be painting the Baby Gap walls red.

Day 177 - 184

Much needed update

Everyday I get up and get painting (just like before). Here are a few of new photos of the progress. I did finish the regular calendar last week, and this week I am trying to finish the new calendar with writing spaces for each day. Instead of just doing a white and black month, I am adding my own special twist to the month, making it cute and fun.

I garden with my two friends during the summer and fall and I never knew this mini pumpkins would come in so handy. They are suppose to be on my center piece but currently they are supporting my artwork.

Last week I finished the calendar! Yay! It turned out really cute this year (if I do say so myself). It's always good to like what you do. You can expect to see the finished version here and on etsy for purchase.

Day 167-174

Nordic Guys

December 2012 Calendar Page

When I created this calendar exclusively for Season's Catalog, they told me December had to stay neutral as far as holidays were concerned. I thought about doing a Christmas scene this year but, I changed my mind. I like these strange little guys biking in a Nordic forest in winter. It makes no sense. My mom's comment was, "Well, Kristin, none of your art makes sense, so what's the problem?"

There are not a lot of pictures this week, because I had to do a lot of thinking. Thinking doesn't show up until the end.

I worked everyday and the physical proof is in the super rough drawings in my journal. I have snow bears in igloos, lots of positioning of deer. I ended up deciding on doing a rather rectangular shaped deer with angular heads. Instead of producing I had to just think and draw and draw.
