Two Pink Poodles

Two Pink Poodles Sharing One Cafe Chair

Patiently waiting for their foamy lattes to arrive with a crunchy biscuit served  on lovely old china, cloth napkins and small polished silver spoons. The phrase, time has no meaning, is not true, anticipating, savoring the moments, enjoying the time between when the order is take and when it is delivered is meaningful. It is a wonderful is part of the experience of dining, that so oftentimes diners want to rush thru, when in reality they need to slow down, enjoy, and savor those moments. These two pink poodles understand the joie de vivre.
 Life must not be rushed.

Little Red Ridinghood

If You Eat a Cupcake With a Friend,
Does it Taste Better?

"My, what big teeth you have"

"All the better to eat you with my dear"

(And I would like to add, you look delicious!)

This wolf is way to cute to be mean!
He looks more like her pet than her evil nemesis.
January is almost over, but the days are still short and dark,
call a friend, meet at a bakery, order a big, fat, luscious cupcake
and a hot dark cup of coffee. Bask in the warmth of a wonderful conversation. We're all on diets, yes, but once in a while a treat is in order. Treat yourself to time spent with friends. Treat yourself to happy thoughts of places you want to travel. Treat yourself to the dreams you want to reach, the things you are going to create this year. Treat yourself with a cupcake with a friend!

World Party

If a Cupcake Fun to Look at,
Does it Taste Better?

If I was a baker I would make cupcakes like this and put them on a plate with little lambs, and then I'd have a party for all the people who'd lost things that were really right under their nose. I guess I would have to have a World party, because who hasn't that happened too? Can you imagine a world of people eating pink cupcakes together for no other reason than being human?

Pets From the Past

Tandy the Golden and Stephanie

"The dog of my dreams" my sister said.
And Tandy was.
The best dog ever.

My sister had this dream of being in a field with her dog running. Really, I think she just wanted to live in a grassy field with all kinds of animals, lambs, goats, cows, deer but mostly her dog. One time she stopped to pick up a baby fawn by the side of the road and bring it back to our condo (she had plans to raise it there-because deer do really well living in condos) but the DNR beat her to it, and she came home crying, thwarted. I was shocked, but not really, and somewhat relieved we would not be buying deer chow and watching tv with a deer on the couch with us. Stephanie, I love her!

Belle was a Fairy

My dog could fly. She used fairy dust.
She was magic!

My dog would just look at you when you gave a command.
"Processing...... processing.....choosing to disregard."
That is how my sister described her attitude towards obedience.
I loved her anyways. She was my little soulmate.

 Willie was a Cowboy
Belle could Spell her Name with a Rope

Willie had personality to spare and was very funny.
Belle didn't listen to a thing anyone said.
She was an independent woman.

They have personality.
We love them.
Our pets.
Our family.

Three Years Later......

Heart and Soul

My good friend Donna, posted this on her facebook page yesterday so I could see the final result of my efforts. She moved from Minnesota to Texas, taking part of my heart with her, and a few paintings.

"FINALLY. I originally planned these paintings for over the fireplace and now I believe I have found the perfect wall to hang my triptych by artist, Kristin Camp. Not sure I did this artwork justice with the evening light but it really does look amazing in this spot. To get the scope of wall size, these paintings measure about six feet stacked on top of each other. Kudos to my talented friend. I feel like I have both your heart and soul surrounding me every day."

Here are the paintings in my little studio, before they headed to Texas

Zoey

Girl Scout Cookie Money Goes to Rescue Dogs

Bright and fun colors for this Staffordshire bulldog mix who is on the waiting list for her forever home at Second Hand Hounds in Minnesota. My daughter's Brownie Troop decided to donate a part of their cookie sales this year to this rescue organization. I would like to help as well, this is a painting of
Zoey, one of their rescue dogs.

A Little Slice of Sunshine

In a Sunshine State of Mind

January 15 and in Minneapolis it is 27F today which makes it
feel almost balmy here. After days and days of starting out below
0 with negative windchill factors it is a relief to be "warm".
Yes, it is relative.
We are living in a Sunshine State of Mind.
At least I am.

So here's to happy warm and sunny thoughts today!
Make it a good one!

Happy 2015

Okay, so it's been a while since I last blogged, but it's a new year and new beginnings. I do post almost everyday on my Camp Studios facebook page, for your daily dose of cuteness needs, like Camp Studios facebook page.

What's new? It's cold in Minnesota, -37 windchill yesterday, and yet I still walked my dog, but it made me long for Sanibel Island off the gulf coast of Florida. This painting, Sanibel Calling, is available in 2 sizes on my etsy site, 8 x 8 or 14 x 14, painted on wood, ready to hang, can you smell the salt air and feel the sand and sun?

The Queen

Painted for a friend's birthday. A painting of her Corgie Peetie, it really wasn't my idea, but I liked it so much I copied it and had a great time
doing the project.

Peetie Goes Bad

Another depiction of my friend's Corgi, I couldn't help myself.....she moved to Texas and I imagined her dog getting in with the wrong crowd and going terribly astray.

The Courtesan

Because who doesn't need a Raccoon with a giant wig full of blue birds
staring them down over the dinner table?

Viking Warrior Girl

For all you who are, or who know someone fighting the fight
with cancer. This particular painting is of my mom. My friend asked
me to do another one for her.
She lost her dad a couple of years ago, but liked the
image of my mom and her valiant sword.

Check out the paintings on my etsy site Camp Studios
